Ray- Ban Aviator Sunglasses, AEO Ruffled Tank (SALE!!), Old Navy Rockstar Skinnies (fits true to size, I am wearing a zero), Shoe Mint Heels (similar here)

There aren't a lot of shopping options in my tiny little river town. Aside of a few locally owned boutiques, the mall basically consists of Belk, American Eagle, and Victoria Secret. When I don't have the time to drive an hour to Birmingham, I must make do with what I have.

When I was in high school, we were outfitted head to toe in American Eagle. Once I was old enough to buy beer without a fake ID, I felt to old to be walking around in the same outfit as the girl taking her drivers permit test. I mean, I'll pop in my neighborhood AEO from time to time but I always leave empty handed.

Last week was a different story.

I bought this neon bralette (last seen here), this ruffled tank (pictured above) and this white boho dress (that I cannot wait to photograph when the neighbors cotton field starts to bloom!).

I guess second chances really are a good thing.

Ray- Ban Aviator Sunglasses, Ya Maxi Dress via Caiston Elle, Old Navy Tote, Jessica Simpson Jinxxi Wedges, Essie Wrap Me Up Polish, Bauble Bar Link Bracelet (old), Bauble Bar Pave Bracelet (old), Gorjana Griffin Wrap Bracelet (no longer available)

Hey y'all! Hope everyone is having a great day so far! I have been busy, busy, busy!

How fun is this maxi dress! I love the color combo, and as Miss Courtney Kerr would say, "It has excellent walkability". Maxi dresses are great for many reasons. I love them because they are so casual and easy, yet so elegant looking! At the great height of 5', I usually have to have a foot cut off, but that's OK because that means my friends aren't able to borrow them:)

How to you feel about maxi dresses?

Jaime

Ray-Ban Sunglasses, Naked Zebra Tank (old, most similar here), Joe's Jeans, The Honey cut in Jackie wash (old, most similar here), Hobo Clutch (old, but love, love, love this one), Jessica Simpson Jinxxi Wedges

Happy Thursday, y'all! I am off today and my plans consist of absolutely nothing except a bikini, a lounge chair, and something cold to drink, HA!

I first wore this tank with white newsboy pants to a Jamey Johnson concert a couple years ago. I forgot about it (even after 3 moves!!!) until I came across it in the back of my closet last week. My boyfriend always says "You have zero separation anxiety", but fortunately for me, that doesn't apply to clothes or shoes! An oldie but goody, right?!?!
Besides, I love food, and anything that will hide my food baby is well worth holding on to:)

I also love anything nautical. It's just so effortless and crisp looking. Makes me think of wondering around a small beach town on the east coast while sipping on Long Island Iced Tea's.

Speaking of small beach towns, we're planning a trip to Hilton Head this summer. We've never been so we're really excited! Any suggestions on lodging, dining, or shopping?

A Gift Guide for the Southern Mother

Gift Guide: A Southern Mother's Day

Rodan & Fields Reverse Skin Care Set, $179.00
Help Mom refurbish that skin you stuck her with after carrying you for nine months and putting up with you for those 18+ years.

Ralph Lauren Romance Perfume, $70.00
The man friend got me this for Christmas. I prefer Viva La Juicy, but it was a sweet thought so I keep it on the counter, and my Mom loves it. It's a good "mom" scent.

Tyler Candle Company High Maintenance, $22.95
For Mom to light after your brother takes his shoes off.

Vera Bradley Large Duffel, $85.00
Because for some reason every Southern teenage/college girl and Mom love a brightly colored quilted anything. Hello pot, meet kettle (I own 2). Add a monogram and she'll feel extra special.

Monogrammed Acrylic Key chain, $18.99
Because for some reason that I cannot figure out, Southern women feel the need to monogram everything.  Their cars, tshirts, shoes, and any other surface they can find.

Jack Rogers Nantucket Sandal, $118.00
These are a great Summer staple for any Southern Mom over 50. Oh, and Grandmother. Can't leave her out. They weigh about 212 pounds each, are like walking on bricks, and Southern women get a new color every year. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that these can also be monogrammed.

Ugg Suede Slippers, $120.00
Because we can't have her walking around in Mu Mu slippers. Unfortunately, I don't think these can be monogrammed. But if there is a way, a Southern woman will find it.

Countertop Wine Cooler, $130.00
Self explanatory.

Brazilian Butt Lift, $55.00
This should help with the "bleacher butt"(also known as a flat ass) she developed over all of the years she was forced to sit in the stands and watch you play every school sport offered, no matter how bad you sucked at it.

Travel Mug, $19.95
Because there is no better way to hide a little day drinking on-the-go than with a travel mug that says "Shhh, there's wine in here". In fact, buy 2 so you'll have one for yourself. After all, you're the reason she's a mom, therefor, you are the reason for the day drinking.

Lilly IPad Sleeve, $14.97
As previously stated, Southern women love brightly colored printed things. And access to social media at all times. 2 birds, 1 stone.

Bliss Bubble Bath, $18.00
So Mom can soak in the tub with her glass of wine after a long day in her  212 pound sandals, while pretending to listen to your sobs about how that bitch Mary Margaret stole your boyfriend John Luke David IV.

Coffee Mug, $18.99
Mom will need this for many reasons. Hangover jump start, to brag that you think she's "the bomb", and to remind herself that she did all that hard work and all she got was this stupid coffee mug.

Pop of Color

Sunglasses, Cardigan (old, similar here and here), Top, Jeans, Shoes

Good morning, y'all! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine consisted of work, cleaning my house, and spending time with my family. It felt so good not to have any plans or anywhere to be, and to just be able to recharge and be lazy with my sweet girl (and by that I mean we made it to level 80 on Jelly Splash lol).

Here lately, I've found myself flocking to the more casual, comfy side of my closet. Maybe all of the rain and dreary weather has me in a rut, I dunno, but I just haven't felt much like getting dressed.

What I have felt like? Shoe shopping. Le duh.

I got bored last Tuesday morning, so after grabbing my morning coffee (btw, it's time for me to invest in a Keureg, I did some math and I spend about $1600.00 a year on coffee. That. Is. Ridiculous.), I pranced on over to the Belk shoe department, where my friend Holly works and helps me spend unnecessary amounts on footwear. She's the best.

I bought these, these, and these (above).

In my above mentioned slump of wanting to lay around in my under-roos all day, I knew I had a lunch date with a bestie, and that leaving the house sans clothing would result in a mug shot and a court date, so I had to get it together.

Over sized cardigan and slouchy top with skinny jeans it was. While checking out my lazy look in the mirror, I realized I looked slouchy and was border lining on homeless, I put my new, bright coral "I have no idea what to wear these with so that I don't look like a hooker" heels on, and immediately perked up! What better way to dress down a loud shoe than to use it to dress up an otherwise boring outfit?!?!

I felt like a genius.
Just kidding.
Not really.

Jaime

Neon

Sunglasses, Chambray (SALE alert!), Bralette, Jeans, Shoes, Crossbody, Nails, Toes

Happy Friday, y'all! And it's May 1st! This year has really been flying by!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you saw the sneak peek pic of this outfit the other night. Date night at my favorite local eatery, Velocity. OMG their pepper jelly burger is worth giving up your second born for!!!

I love taking the simplest of things (chambray, white denim) and adding a little something, like this neon bralette. In combination with a fabulous shoe, it looks so effortless don't ya think?!?

I basically live in white denim, so expect to see these jeans on repeat for a while. Best part? They fit like a glove in all the right places, are comfy, AND only $30.00!

On another note, I started a new skin care regimen this morning. My news feed stays covered up with talk and promotion of Rodan & Fields, and a few of my girlfriends are reps for the line. I used Proactive in my younger years and loved it, so I was familiar with the company and believed in their products. My skin took a major hit last summer when I spent all day, every day in the sun without sunscreen. I know, I am old enough to know better than that, but I sure did enjoy being tan!

That's when I took myself to Sephora, bought a Clarisonic (you NEED this!) and started Proactive again. It helped, but it just didn't get the job done. Then it dawned on me. What if it's not acne, it's sun damage? And I'm also the worst about taking makeup off before bed, so that doesn't help the problem either.

I started the Reverse line this morning, which helps with brown spots and discoloration, so we shall see what happens! I'll tell ya this though, my face feels sooooo clean after just one use!

If you're interested in learning more about everything that Rodan & Fields has to offer, contact Stephanie Knight.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Jaime
